Information Sharing a Must!

This is just an informational bulletin!  But, if you work in any way, shape or manner, with critical infrastructure, then you should be making plans to attend these meetings!  The CISA is holding “townhall” meetings to allow input from the industries facing cyber attacks for refining the incident reporting system for critical infrastructure!  This includes a wide variety of different systems and is of high importance.

One of the weaknesses in our current cyber defense is the lack of reporting cyber incidents.  I know for a fact that many cyber incidents are either swept under the rug or just outright ignored for reporting purposes, and this really helps no one in the end!  It is imperative that we share intelligence and information in order to better prepare for future attacks and this is just one format in which that can be accomplished.

Below are just some examples of the different industries who should attend and provide input:

Communications Sector

Dams Sector

Emergency Services Sector

Food and Agriculture Sector

Government Facilities Sector

Healthcare and Public Health Sector

Transportation Systems Sector

Water and Wastewater Sector

Chemical Sector

Commercial Facilities Sector

Critical Manufacturing Sector

Defense Industrial Base Sector

Energy Sector

Financial Services Sector

Information Technology Sector

Nuclear Reactors, Materials, and Waste Sector

So, don’t be an isolationist when it comes to cyber security!  Share your information and maybe you can help another victim better prepare and recover from a similar attack!

Carpe Diem!
