Welcome to My Site!

Hello! My name is David. I live in the mountains of Western Maryland, right where the deer and the black bears roam!
When I’m not hunting for digital threats, you can usually find me outdoors! I enjoy hiking, hunting, or fishing (as long as my back is online!) and spending time with my family. I’m also a firm believer in preparing the next generation, which is why I teach cybersecurity at ACM, helping the next generation of defenders get their start.
I’ve spent my career protecting data with the same tenacity I used as a police lieutenant and criminal investigator. Whether I’m reviewing logs to hunt for APTs, conducting deep-dive forensic examinations for litigation, or building incident response protocols from scratch, I believe that every byte tells a story. I hold multiple industry certifications, but my real “secret” is the investigator’s intuition I’ve honed over 30 years in the field.
For over 20 years, I’ve navigated the intersection of criminal investigation and cybersecurity, serving as a police detective and lieutenant, lead incident responder, digital forensic analyst, and penetration tester.
